Aeronaves De Mexico DC-8 model

In 1960, Aeronaves De Mexico took delivery of its first DC-8, a series -21 from the Douglas factory.

This aircraft was written off at Idlewild Airport in 1961, but Aeronaves went on to add a fleet of nine DC-8-50s to their operation, which the airline used on their international services from Mexico City from the 1960s through to the late 1980s.

The Aeronaves (later renamed Aeromexico) DC-8s were common visitors to Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Madrid and other destinations in Latin America.
