Canadian Pacific Airlines DC-8 model

This 1/50th scale cast aluminum model depicts Canadian Pacific Airlines DC-8-43 CF-CPI “Empress of Amerterdam” post 1965, when the maple leaf was adapted as the Canadian national insignia.

Canadian Pacific Airlines (CP Air) operated a fleet of five DC-8-43s between the early 1960s and 1980, when they were retired and sent down to Florida for scrapping. During their twenty years of service they operated CP’s routes domestically, to Europe, South America, to the US West Coast routes to California and Hawaii. They also served the Asian routes into the 1970s.
